Dutch Iris

Story of the Painting
"I grew this flower in my garden. Dutch Iris are easy to grow outdoors and rebloom easily for years. They are also an easy-to-find cut flower, for sale at most florists. I liked the simplicity of shapes and the blue to violet color of this flower. Iris have a rich history. The flower was named after Iris, the ancient Greek goddess of the rainbow who was the messenger of the gods and in the form of the rainbow would take messages from heaven to earth. The meaning of the flower has come to include faith, hope, and wisdom. This painting has been purchased."
