Story of the Painting

"This was the first painting I published to begin my flower notecard and botanical print business. It was also the first of a series of big Iris paintings, others of which I have published. Bearded Iris are wonderful painting subjects. They are so sculptural with beautiful forms, and come in so many beautiful colors — some have wonderful fragrances. I grew this flower in my garden. Yellow is my favorite color. This painting is in my private collection."
