Description
This etching was drawn from a Christmas wreath I made for my door. I usually buy an evergreen wreath with pine cones. I like the look of it and the slight smell of the evergreen foliage when I open the door. I then sew or fasten on there various mostly handmade ornaments which include animals, candy canes, figures from the “Nutcracker Suite” and some bells and a red bow at the bottom. It has a joyous feeling to it that makes it a pleasure to see, smell and hear when entering and leaving the house. Wreaths have been used symbolically for centuries. The circle or ring shape is symbolic of eternity or eternal life since the shape has no beginning or end. Putting plants into the symbolic circular shape symbolizes the strength of life overcoming the forces of winter.
